Club gala February 2011
Swimming in their own pool Cinderford swimmers competed in a Club gala. With such a large turnout of swimmers putting in excellent effort the spectators had plenty to cheer about.
In the teaching group some fantastic PBs were achieved by Jade Cleal, Alex Rawlings, Finley Gawin-Brian, Alex Cleal, Zea Levy, Hannah Kibble, Hannah Desmond, Lauren Garner, Jay Scrivens and Matthew Flemming. The development squad’s swimmers with the greatest improvements were Morgan Jones, Chloe Phillips, Nya Levy, Rebecca Howard, Maddie Worgan, Chloe Howard and Emily Wilson and in the County squad Chris Owston, Nick Watkins, Todd Montague and Kim Smith achieved the largest PB’s.
For some of the younger swimmers this was their first chance of competition and they stepped up to the start with confidence: Jon Phelps, Jordan Harris, Nathaniel Ingledow, Bethanie Rowlands, Tamzin Latham, Mabel McClellan and Bethany Whittard-Smith all swam excellently. Tackling 100m swims for the first time were Roderick Ho, Josh Gawin-Brian, Evan Jones, Rebecca Howard, Jess Tingle and Siobhan Johnson achieving new times. Not to be left out, among the Masters taking part were Kate Davies, Paul Thorpe-Williams and Rob Cleal in their first opportunity to race.
