Cinderford & District Swimming Club Championships 2011

77 swimmers took part in Cinderford & District Swimming Clubs annual Championship followed by a presentation evening and buffet. This event is looked forward to with great anticipation by the swimmers and their families and always proves to be exciting. The swimmers compete in all strokes over various distances with an eventual winner in each age group being awarded the trophy. All the swimmers put in tremendous effort and this was reflected in the incredible amount of personal best times with awards and medals being given to all swimmers who swim in these Championships.
Luke Mills was the recipient of this years’ Coaches Award for his dedication to training, excellent effort and achievements this year and Jessica Bayliss was given the Chairman’s Award for the continued improvement in her swimming ability and her commitment to the Club. For the first time in the history of the Club the decision on an individual swimmer to receive the Seals Award was so difficult that it was decided sisters’ Rebecca and Chloe Howard should receive the award jointly, they both give 100% effort during training sessions and have a positive attitude to their swimming. Dean Embling and Lauren Mitchell were appointed Club Captains for the following year and Dean and his sister Ashleigh were given vouchers in acknowledgement of their 10 year membership of the Club.
