Cotswold League B final May 2011 at Keynsham
Cinderford hosted the final of the Cotswold League B gala at Keynsham at only a few days notice due to discrepancies in the final round with other teams’ points. Frantic last minute searches for a referee before the final were all smoothed out by the Saturday evening and even the late arrival of one of the teams didn’t detract from the well run competition. The final results were Bristol Penguins 242 points; Cinderford 208 points; Minehead 179 points; Brockworth 170 points; Bristol Henleaze 147 points and Cwmbran 142 points.
Cinderford swimmers put in plenty of winning performances but on the night Bristol Penguins were a stronger team. Dean Embling and Nia Westlake led the way with 1st places in the 100m IM, before both going on to win the 100m breaststroke races. Ceris Westlake won her 100m butterfly race and Lauren Mitchell won her 100m backstroke race; these girls were joined by Nia and Rebecca Dubberley to win both the Open freestyle and medley relays. Dean was joined by Billy Harris, Nathan Peck and Jake Parker to win the Open medley relay.
Ashleigh Embling won the 50m breaststroke and Nya Levy won her backstroke race. Todd Montague, Kurtis Nash, George Fear and Josh Peck won the 15/under medley relay and Todd and Paige Bowles won their individual backstroke races. George Fear achieved a PB in his 50m butterfly and Andrew Cole improved his backstroke time
