County Blocks 5th & 6th March 2011
From this excellent weekend at the County Blocks, Cinderford swimmers achieved 3 stroke award trophies and 2 championship finals amongst their medals. Dean Embling was the first of our swimmers to compete in the 100m breaststroke winning his age group with a new PB, he took part in the Championship final improving his time yet again coming 3rd overall in a time of 1min 09.55. Dean also came 2nd in the 200m breaststroke with a new time and took part in this Championship final coming 5th overall. He also won the breaststroke award trophy of the 16 year olds.
Nia Westlake took home gold, silver and 2 bronze medals for the 200m backstroke, 200m IM, 100n freestyle and 400m freestyle respectively, she achieved new PBs in both the 400m freestyle and 100m breaststroke. Nia also won the Individual Medley award trophy for the 17 year olds. Ashleigh Embling came 6th in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke races and collected the 3rd place overall stroke award trophy for the Breaststroke for 14 years old. Lauren Mitchell won the bronze medal in her 200m backstroke and achieved a 7 sec PB in the 400m freestyle.
Todd Montague set a new time for his 400m freestyle before taking 8th place in the 200m backstroke with a 5 sec PB and achieving a 3 sec PB in the 100m freestyle. Rebecca Toomer and Josh Peck both improved their times in the 100m and 400m freestyle. Nya Levy collected the 7th place medal in the 50m backstroke and improved her 100m IM time by 7 sec. Paige Bowles swam to a new PB in the 200m backstroke and Sam Jenkins achieved a PB in his 50m backstroke.
