County Relays 27th March 2011 at GL1

Cinderford fielded boys in all age groups of the County relays on Sunday and came away with a clutch of medals. The 9/10 years boys’ team of Jamie Morris, Evan Jones, Andrew Cole and Luke Mills set the day off to a flying start securing a place in the final of the 4 x 50m freestyle and winning the 4th place medals.  The 11/12 year old boys’ team of Sam Jenkins, Frazer Montague, Morgan Peck and Mitch Savage swam to a well deserved 5th place in the finals of both the freestyle and medley relays. 

Nick Watkins, Kurtis Nash, Todd Montague and Josh Peck swam in the 13/14 years old age group achieving 7th place in both hard fought finals.  The 15/16 year olds of George Fear, Joe Tingle, Dean Embling and Billy Harris gave strong swims to achieve 4th in the medley final and 7th in the freestyle final.   Billy and Dean were joined in the Open boys’

4 x 100m medley team by Jake Parker and Nathan Peck coming 9th in the heat and Dean, Jake and Nathan were joined by Jason Games in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay finishing in 10th position.

For the girls: the 9/10 year old team consisted of Nya Levy, Jess Tingle, Morgan Jones and Charlotte Clarkson finishing in 13th place in both relays. The 11/12 year old team of Jess Bayliss, Maddie Worgan, Casey Davis and Megan Cameron finished in 14th and 15th place in the medley and freestyle relays. 

The Women’s team of Rebecca Toomer, Ashleigh Embling, Nia Westlake and Rebecca Dubberley showed determination and came 7th in the final of the 4 x 100m medley and Nia and the 2 “Rebecca’s” were joined by Lauren Mitchell in the 4 x 100m freestyle final medalling in a respectable 7th place.  The 17 year and over mixed team consisted of Lauren, Nia, Jason Games and Nathan Peck in the freestyle relay achieving a well earned 5th place in the final, Jason was substituted by Jake Parker in the mixed medley also finishing in a respectable 7th place.
