Forest Pulse Swimathon – Dec 2011
Congratulations to swimmers Anne Seager, Jules Barrell, Kirsty and Jamie Morris, and Jamie and Claire Leighton who took part in the Forest Pulse Swimathon at Whitecross Leisure Centre in December. Forest Pulse supports families living in the Forest of Dean who have a child with disabilities; it is based within the Heart of the Forest Special School
11 teams took part in the event and the “Cinderford Masters” swimmers won overall, beating the First Battalion the Rifles into second place and the team from the Forest of Dean District Council into third.
The achievement of the Masters team even got mentioned at and was put in the minutes of the full District Council Meeting in December!
A special mention for Ben Leighton who bravely joined another Forest Pulse Team who were low on numbers, not only did he swim with people he didn't know, they only had 3 in the team, so they had to swim extra!
It was a brilliant event and had a great atmosphere and well done to all involved.
