Four Seasons Gala 24th April 2010
Cinderford hosted the latest Four Seasons Gala at home, a very appreciative audience cheered on the teams in a very tight contest with the gala outcome decided on the last relay. The final results were Cinderford winning by 1 point to Gloucester with Hereford finishing just behind in 3rd place.
The first winners for Cinderford were the 10 years 4 x 25m medley relays teams of Emily Wilson, Renee Pritchard, Maddie Worgan and Chloe Kibble, they touched in first place to loud applause before the boys team of Andrew Cole, Luke Mills, Sam Jenkins and Zelig Ho followed their example and finished ahead in their race. The girls spurred on by their first win later surged ahead to take the 4 x 25m freestyle relay as well. The 11 years 4 x 25m freestyle team of Chris Owston, Mitch Savage, Luke Nash and Morgan Peck had a convincing win, with Mitch and Morgan helping Josh Peck and Nick Watkins to a win in both the 12 years medley and freestyle relays. A young 9 year old boys’ team of Craig Collett, Evan Jones, Tyler Adams and Andrew Cole swam well but were just pipped to the finish in the medley relay.
Individual wins came from Renee Pritchard in the 50m breaststroke taking an excellent 3 seconds off her time; Mitch Savage finished strongly in the 50m backstroke; Nya Levy showed skill in winning the breaststroke and backstroke and Emily Wilson had a great race to the take the honours in the backstroke. Sam Jenkins had well executed races to win in the backstroke (with a 3 second PB) and butterfly.
Morgan Peck excelled in the 50m butterfly and breaststroke with Josh Peck winning the freestyle in great style. Casey Davis and Luke Nash impressed with wins in the 50m freestyle races. Jess Bayliss had a terrific swim to win the 50m breaststroke and new times were achieved by both Rebecca Howard in the backstroke and Megan Cameron in the freestyle.
9 year olds Morgan Jones, Becky Embling, Jess Tingle and Nya Levy put in a tremendous effort to win their medley relay. In the final cannon: Jess Tingle, Andrew Cole, Maddie Worgan, Sam Jenkins, Casey Davis. Morgan Peck, Jess Bayliss and Josh Peck sprinted home to give victory on the night to the Cinderford team in a very closely fought gala.
