For the third round of the National swimming league, Cinderford travelled to Womborne in the West Midlands, finishing just 2 points off the 3rd place. With a slightly depleted team the remaining swimmers put in an excellent effort and were a credit to the Club.
16 year old Nia Westlake achieved first place in the 200m IM and 100m backstroke, Rebecca Toomer (15) took gold in the 100m backstroke and Kim Briscoe got PB’s and top spot in both her 100m butterfly and freestyle races. They were joined by Ceris Westlake to win the Open medley relay and by Paige Bowles and Ashleigh Embling (both aged 13) to win the Open freestyle relay. Paige having won her 100m backstroke and Ashleigh her 100m breaststroke race.
Molly Hek swam to a new PB in her 100m breaststroke and 11 year old Casey Davis swimming in the 15 year old age group also achieved a new PB in the 100m freestyle. Mitch Savage, Frazer Montague, Morgan Peck and Danny Collins took first place in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
Dean Embling took the lead in the 100m breaststroke and gained PB’s for his 200m IM and 100m butterfly. Brothers Alex and Danny Collins both swam to new times in their 100m freestyle and Joe Tingle, having recently returned to swimming, took first place in the 100m backstroke.
