“More Little Fishes” - Swimming after school club

Funding has been obtained to allow Forest school children in Years 5, 6 and 7 to swim for a term of 10 one hour sessions on Wednesday afternoons in the after school club “More Little Fishes”. This exciting opportunity is being brought to you by Cinderford swimming coaches Jayne Wallace and Pam James who are taking the sessions at Heywood pool with the help of club member Lauren Mitchell.
Jayne said “Active Gloucestershire has given us the funding and support required to offer these pupils the chance to participate and hopefully improve their swimming. The only criterion is that they can swim a couple of lengths of the pool”.
The first successful term of More Little Fishes has just finished and the pupils took part in a fun gala and were awarded with certificates. Active Gloucestershire are now in the process of contacting the next group of schools and hope that pupils will take up this offer.
